Europe is filled with destinations that make traveling with kids an incredible adventure - where ancient history comes alive, nature turns into a playground, and every day brings a new discovery. In Part One, we shared some of our favorite family-friendly countries in Europe. Now, in Part Two, we’re diving into 10 more destinations that are perfect for making unforgettable memories with your little explorers. From the dramatic landscapes of Iceland to the sun-soaked shores of Greece and the cultural treasures of Turkey, these places offer something for every kind of family traveler.

11. Iceland

If your family loves nature and adventure, Iceland is a must. Drive the scenic Golden Circle to explore erupting geysers, thundering waterfalls, and the tectonic rift at Þingvellir National Park. Kids will love meeting friendly Icelandic horses, spotting puffins along the cliffs, and even walking on a glacier with a local guide.

In Reykjavík, don’t miss the interactive Perlan Museum—complete with an indoor ice cave and a dazzling planetarium. After a day of exploring, unwind in family-friendly geothermal pools like the Secret Lagoon or the Blue Lagoon’s quieter kid zones.

Feeling especially adventurous? Rent a car and take a road trip around Iceland’s different regions—from black sand beaches in the south to the volcanic landscapes of the north. Iceland is one big outdoor classroom where kids can learn and explore through hands-on discovery, wonder, and play.

12. Greece

Greece is a dream destination for families—where history, mythology, and beach time come together effortlessly. Kids can step into ancient stories at the Acropolis in Athens, explore real-life labyrinths in Crete, and sail to islands where the water is calm, clear, and perfect for swimming. The Greeks are famously welcoming to children, and family-friendly accommodations and restaurants are easy to find.

Head to Naxos or Paros for a laid-back island vibe with beautiful beaches and less crowds than Santorini or Mykonos. For a mix of culture and coast, combine a few nights in Athens with time on an island or two. With delicious food, rich history, and sunny days, Greece is a place where family travel feels both easy and unforgettable.

13. Turkey

Turkey offers a rich blend of cultures, landscapes, and activities that appeal to the whole family. In Istanbul, take a Bosphorus cruise, explore the Grand Bazaar, and visit the magical Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque. Kids will be fascinated by the underground Basilica Cistern and the ancient stories that come to life.

Outside the city, Cappadocia is a wonderland with its fairy chimneys and hot air balloons. Stay in a cave hotel and take a sunrise balloon ride (even if you just watch from the ground—it’s unforgettable).

In coastal areas like Antalya, families will enjoy sunny beaches, ancient ruins, and all-inclusive resorts that cater to kids.

14. Spain

Spain offers a perfect mix of culture, outdoor fun, and sunshine for families. In Barcelona, kids can explore colorful Park Güell, ride the Montjuïc Cable Car for panoramic views, or learn through play at the CosmoCaixa Science Museum. Head to Madrid for a rowboat ride in El Retiro Park, a flamenco show, or a day at the Madrid Zoo & Aquarium.

Beach lovers will adore the Costa del Sol or Canary Islands, where family-friendly resorts make it easy to balance adventure and downtime. For more nature and hidden gems, visit the Costa Brava for kayaking, coves, and seaside fun.

Don’t miss charming towns like Segovia, with its iconic Roman aqueduct, or Valencia, home to the City of Arts and Sciences, an interactive complex that’s a hit with kids. Spain has so much to offer!

15. Croatia

Croatia offers a perfect blend of coastline, castles, and adventure - making it a standout destination for families. In Dubrovnik, kids can walk the ancient city walls, ride a cable car for sweeping views, or take a boat to nearby Lokrum Island for a nature-filled escape. Explore Split, where Roman ruins meet the Adriatic Sea, and use it as a base to island-hop to Hvar, Brač, or Vis. Inland, Plitvice Lakes and Krka National Parks are must-sees, with wooden boardwalks winding past turquoise lakes and waterfalls. For a quieter nature escape, visit Brijuni National Park, accessible from the Istrian coast.

Speaking of Istria, this northern region offers family-friendly towns like Pula, with its Roman amphitheater, beautiful beaches, and a slower pace ideal for traveling with kids. Families can choose from seaside resorts, charming rentals, or all-ages-welcome boutique hotels across the country.

Another unforgettable way to experience Croatia? Charter a private catamaran or yacht to sail the islands—an adventurous yet relaxing trip that creates once-in-a-lifetime memories. Whether on land or sea, Croatia’s natural beauty, history, and family-friendly experiences make it a dream destination.

16. Norway

Norway is a fairytale come to life—where majestic fjords, Viking tales, and charming cities set the stage for an unforgettable family adventure. Ride the scenic Flåm Railway for jaw-dropping mountain views, or cruise through iconic fjords like Geirangerfjord or Sognefjord, where waterfalls tumble down steep cliffs and the landscapes are straight out of a storybook.

In Oslo, the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History and the Viking Ship Museum bring history to life for curious kids and parents alike. Over in Bergen, stroll the colorful harbor and take the funicular up to Mount Fløyen for panoramic views and family-friendly forest trails.

Want the best of both worlds? Taking a Norwegian cruise lets your family soak in the country’s breathtaking scenery and enjoy the ease and amenities of shipboard travel—perfect for multigenerational trips or families wanting a mix of adventure and relaxation. Norway is clean, safe, and naturally magical—perfect for families who love nature, culture, and big-sky beauty.

17. Ireland

Ireland is a land of legends, castles, and rolling green hills that spark the imagination of kids and adults alike. In Dublin, families can explore the EPIC Emigration Museum, meet animals at Dublin Zoo, or enjoy a boat ride along the River Liffey for a different view of the city. Head north to Belfast for the immersive Titanic Belfast experience and a day trip to the dramatic Giant’s Causeway, where kids can climb and hop across ancient basalt columns formed by volcanic activity—or maybe giants!

Out west, Galway is a great base for visiting the Aran Islands, spotting Connemara ponies, and enjoying interactive experiences like the Sheepdog Demonstration—a favorite with families. And of course, no family trip to Ireland is complete without climbing the towers of Blarney Castle (and maybe kissing the famous stone) or stepping back in time at Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, where costumed characters, medieval banquets, and hands-on exhibits bring history to life.

18. Portugal

Portugal is incredibly family-friendly—warm, welcoming, and full of fun for all ages. Whether you’re exploring vibrant cities, enchanted palaces, or relaxing on the coast, it’s easy to find kid-friendly activities, flexible dining, and accommodations that cater to families.

In Lisbon, ride the iconic Tram 28 through historic neighborhoods, explore the underwater world at the Oceanário de Lisboa, or spend the day at Parque das Nações, home to playgrounds, bike paths, and the hands-on Pavilion of Knowledge science center. Just a short trip away, Sintra feels like stepping into a fairytale—kids will love exploring Pena Palace, mysterious gardens at Quinta da Regaleira, and riding the historic tram to the beach at Praia das Maçãs.

Up north, Porto enchants families with Douro River boat tours, interactive exhibits at the World of Discoveries Museum, and a visit to Livraria Lello, a magical bookstore said to have inspired J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series.

Down south, the Algarve Coast offers golden beaches, sea caves, and sunshine. Families can enjoy boat trips to the famous Benagil Cave, animal encounters and splash zones at Zoomarine, or unwind at beachside resorts with pools, kids' clubs, and plenty of space to play.

Portugal’s blend of culture, coastline, castles, and charm makes it a top choice for unforgettable family adventures.

19. Sweden

Sweden is a dream for families—clean, safe, and packed with playful experiences that kids and parents will both enjoy. In Stockholm, explore Junibacken, a whimsical storybook world dedicated to beloved Swedish children’s authors like Astrid Lindgren (creator of Pippi Longstocking). Don’t miss the impressive Vasa Museum, where kids can marvel at a real 17th-century warship that was pulled from the sea.

Take a boat ride through the Stockholm archipelago, hop between islands, or visit Skansen, a huge open-air museum and zoo where traditional Swedish life comes alive through costumed interpreters, historic buildings, and Nordic animals. Sweden’s strong focus on nature, creativity, and child-friendly public spaces makes it a perfect destination for curious kids and relaxed, happy parents.

20. Slovenia

Slovenia may be one of Europe’s best-kept secrets—and it’s absolutely perfect for families. Start at Lake Bled, where kids will love riding a traditional pletna boat to the island church, then take a scenic hike or hop on the fun toboggan ride near Bled Castle for some extra thrills. Head underground to explore the magical world of Postojna Cave by train, and don’t miss Predjama Castle, a real medieval fortress dramatically built into a cliffside.
