A true Bucket List vacation destination, Hawaii is a top pick for honeymoons, milestone celebrations and family vacations. So, you want to plan your dream trip to Hawaii. That’s awesome... but where exactly should you go for your ideal Hawaiian vacation? That is the question! Visions of tropical palm trees swaying in the breeze, drinks in coconut shells and hula dancers create a perfect vision of paradise! In addition, since Hawaii is a state no passports are required and there are no language barriers to complicate your travels. Hawaii offers the comforts of home, but the exotic feel of being far far away. There are 6 islands in the Hawaiian island chain that are open for tourism, each with their own unique personality. The challenge is finding the one that fits your travel style and expectations. OAHU: Oahu is home to the iconic Waikiki Beach and historical Pearl Harbor. Honolulu offers big city hustle and bustle, shopping and nightlife as well as beautiful beaches and a pineapple plantation. Be sure to hike Diamond Head for some amazing views. The resort area of Ko Olina is home to Disney’s Aulani Resort and the Four Seasons Ko Olina. The North Shore is a surfer’s paradise. MAUI: From Kaanapali Beach to rain forest Hana, Maui offers a variety of diverse landscapes to explore. Snorkel Molokini Crater and wake up early to see the sun rise at the top of the volcano at Haleakala National Park. Drive the challenging Road to Hana and stop along the way to swim in waterfalls and sample delicious banana bread. Maui offers luxurious resorts as well as condo rentals. In the winter months, Maui is the best place for whale watching. KAUAI: Known as the “Garden Isle”, Kauai has some of the most breathtaking and lush scenery on the planet. Rain is to be expected. Lush greenery is due to substantial rainfall and some parts of the island, such as the Poipu and Waimea areas are sunnier than others. Unplug and truly enjoy the beauty of nature through hiking, paddle boarding and kayaking here. Kauai is also home to the must-see Na Pali Coast State Park. BIG ISLAND: The Big Island of Hawaii is home to scientific wonders and Polynesian culture. See active volcanoes at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, telescope observatories on top of snow-capped mountains, and discover historical and religious landmarks. Enjoy a night swim with Manta Rays. Explore lava fields, waterfalls and perk up with some Kona coffee! LANAI & MOLOKAI: Get away from it all on one of these two less traveled options. Play golf together and enjoy peace and "small town" quiet in Lanai which is home to two award winning luxurious Four Seasons Resorts. Visit Molokai for simple accommodations and an authentic Hawaiian experience. Still not sure which island to choose? Well, that's where I come in!
