At first, remote working and learning at home was a bit of an adventure. Staying in your PJs all day, well at least your bottoms! No commute time. The comfort of just being at home. But now, the honeymoon is over...
Well, we have been at home ALL together for a long time and the honeymoon is over. Most businesses and schools are still in virtual mode leaving us all thinking “not again!”. While having mostly enjoyed a change of pace and our time grounded at home, it can be a little depressing without an end in sight, unless you have a survival plan.
It is time to rethink the remote curse, it actually can be a blessing. Virtual work and school have given us a freedom that we have never had. The kids’ sports and activities are on hold for now, no mandatory practice, games, concerts, etc. This means that probably for the first time in your life, you do not have to be where you are! Your responsibilities are flexible and you can be too. Take advantage of this possibly once in a lifetime opportunity. You can VIRTUALLY work and learn anywhere!
This all has presented a whole new travel trend. The “Remote Vacation”. Why not pack it up and head to a place you have always wanted to go? Yes, working and studying will need to happen, but the incentive to get it done will be huge. The rest of your time can be spent enjoying a new place and your family.
Travel is educational in and of itself. Why not add a little extra learning in with a giant field trip? There are so many resorts catering to the Remote Vacation theme. From designated learning areas to specialized learning activities and field trips, the options for learning beyond normal school duties are endless. In fact, some of them even offer tutors!
Here are 5 notable resorts with amazing programs embracing this exciting trend:
It has been a long 2020 filled with adapting and new realities. Let’s face it, some days will be better and some will be worse, but remember to look for the blessing and not the curse.
